A life-size yoda stands guard outside Hsia's room in her parents' house in the North of Singapore, providing a clue to some of Hsia's interests. Now in her second year at the University of Singapore, Hsia is studying economics and has hopes of finding a job with the monetary authority or another government job in the future. What really keeps her going though is her extra curricular activities, like Japanese anime. Hsia's story with the Junior Summit was an exciting but frustrating one - after being an extremely active participant in homeroom 22 and the topic group discussion on racism, she was elected to be a delegate in Boston. Unfortunately, the Boston conference coincided exactly with her O levels exams, which were only offered once a year, and to avoid the risk of repeating a whole year in school, Hsia was unable to attend the Boston conference. You can find her online now though.
You can email Hsia at art11140@nus.edu.sg.

We were honored that Chean Juyun took one of his few days off from officer cadet school to meet with us at his parent's house in Singapore. At 20, Chean is training to be a lieutenant commander in the Singaporean Army, which has a bigger presence internationally than you might guess, given the small size of the country. Chean comes from a family that likes traveling, and he is no exception; after his army service, he is hoping to study economics and engineering overseas. But being abroad is just for study and travel, when it comes to picking a place to live, Chean wants to return to the year-round summer weather of Singapore!
You can reach Chean at little1@pacific.net.sg and you can see more pictures of him here.

As he was before the Junior Summit, He Ruije is always president of one thing or another. Last year, when he was in his fourth year, he was president of the school, and now he is VP of his Junior College. During the Junior Summit online forum, He and his school mates were known as "Dunman" and they participated in the topic group about preventing cruelty to animals. His school was really excited about the Junior Summit and let them work on the online forum during classtime. Also, the school participates in community service activities, something He still does today. After we interviewed him, he left to tutor a child from a less advantaged area of Singapore. With a brother already at MIT, He is also hoping to go to the United States for studies.
